SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER COUNSELOR

License Requirements:  Licensed in the state of Utah as one of the following: LCSW, LMFT, CMHC, plus 5 years clinical experience in the field.

Reports to: Executive Director

Required:

  • Licensed in the state of Utah as one of the following: LCSW, LMFT, CMHC, plus 5 years clinical experience in the field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible program management experience and staff supervision, including expertise transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team

Responsibilities

  • Oversees outpatient and sober living
  • Oversight and implementation of clinical programming
  • Provide weekly supervision, support, and mentoring to all clinical staff
  • Therapist duties as designated
  • On-call duties as needed,
  • Participates in Quality Improvement task groups
  • Facilitates ancillary services/community referrals for assigned clients
  • Facilitates in-service training, individual/group supervision meetings treatment team meeting
  • Communicates with staff via daily shift-change meetings and client’s record to maximize utilization of milieu in supporting the client’s treatment plan
  • Ensures client records for assigned caseload are comprehensive, complete and neat, and meet licensing/ payor standards
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Proven experience understanding and ability to generate revenues for clinical services
  • Understanding of Utilization Management, level of care criteria and other types of client billings
  • Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence-based practices
  • Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available by phone when needed
  • Program development and evaluation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
