Practicum Field Agency of the Year
From the University of Utah
Brighton Recovery Center (BRC) is honored to be the 2020 recipient of the Outstanding Practicum of the Year Award from the University of Utah College of Social Work. This award has been presented to Brighton for providing excellent opportunities for students to implement the skills they’ve learned during their studies.
Brighton provides interns with great training, clear expectations, and the chance to lead, or co-lead, multiple process groups per week, by fully adopting them into the culture. Interns are supported emotionally, encouraged to ask questions, provided with constructive feedback, and shown how to foster an ideal work environment. The staff at Brighton are friendly, professional, and do all they can to help interns gain valuable clinical experience.
Brighton Recovery Center is a member of the Joint Commission and the National Association of Social Workers. Brighton also has many connections within the industry that can prove vital to interns’ future career placement.
Molly Davis completed her practicum at Brighton and after her experience, nominated BRC for this award. In regards to her time as an intern with Brighton, she had the following to say: “I have enjoyed my time at Brighton so fully. It has made me realize my passion for working in the substance abuse treatment industry and helped me remember why I picked this career.”
Brighton Recovery Center is happy to help students like Molly bridge the gap from graduate to working professional. If you or anyone you know is looking to participate in a practicum, feel free to contact us at (801) 479-7035.
